I am currently listening about the way the martians were discovered and left their cylinder (The way they used to get to earth from Mars.) The fact of the martians being essentially twice the size of an average person is shocking. Since I thought they were around the size of a desk in height on my first reading. I feel like it is better to reread some books, or even listen to them so you can hopefully learn more.

Almost done with the book! The fact that the artilleryman is going essentially insane with his forecast upon human life if the martians win the war is horrifying.. The book definetly slowed down, with the fact of people starting to accept the fate. 12 more pages to go in the book.

Going great so far, the reunion between the artillery man with the narrator was deserved. They had such great chemistry and they are building on it even more! its a shame I'm reaching the end of the book because I am having so much fun reading this!

The curates death was shocking. the fact H.G. Welles decided to have a figure of the church die is scary. The fact that no one is safe from the martians invasion. The survival scenes being straight up like the raptor scene from jurassic park with the tentactle of the war machine navigating and looking for the humans that are potentially down there in the "Scullery".

Pretty great so far, the thunderchild scene is by far my most favorite part in the book due to it being this grand counter attack, only to turn into pure chaos.

The book is great so far. Im nearing the famous "THUNDER CHILD" scene, where the british navy attempt to destroy the martian war mechines. It is one of my favorite scenes in all WAR OF THE WORLDS media. SInce it can be either very heroic and showing humanity has a fighting chance.. Ooorr having humanity essentially be not so heroic and showing the flaws in man, with the animalistic nature of humanity fighting to live

The book is great so far, Im at the chapter where things get good, and the story plunges into alien invasion. The tripods being essentially just 3 legged robots is a good idea. Not much is described for the tripod. But one thing is certain. The battle for earth has started.

Good book so far, while being dated its still pretty good. With the premise of 1890's england being in panic as the world is invaded by these alien beasts.
