why is this book so long there's not enough plot for it to be this long 😭😭😭

i absolutely loved the first 1/3 of this book, but this middle part is srsly dragging 😭😭 and I absolutely loved maría in the first 1/3 too but why does it feel like her character is not as likeable now..........

I don't like that Matteo keeps lowkey mansplaining Sabine 😭 let my girl live bro

i like that Matteo and Alessandrio are a gay vampire x human couple, but idk is it just me or does the way Matteo is talking to Sabine lowkey feel a little bit like mansplaining her about how to be a vampire 😭 (but I get that he's trying to show her a different perspective)

I still enjoy this book more than A Dowry Of Blood, this is better written 😣

hell yeah Sabine and Renata, finally 🔥 now we just need hector to go away. I wasn't expecting vampire polyamory but I'm here for it! I also like Sabine getting to reclaim sexual agency for herself after her trauma at the hands of Andrés.

I have to admit that scene with the human heart squicked me out a lot because I'm squeamish about gore 😣 it is so well-written though! and the explanation of a vampire's weaknesses, tied together neatly through the heart, makes a lot of sense in terms of the internal logic of the vampire world

I ship Renata with Sabine already 🫶 and Sabine is so gay wanting to kiss every woman she meets 🫶
