The theme of this book is the will to survive. The reason for this is that the Skandians are being invaded by a force that outnumbers them 3 to 1 and are going to use Halts tactics to try and survive.

My conflict is person vs person, and it is the kingdom of Skandia vs the temujai.

Will is my favorite character. He is always trying to be strong and a leader, even when he is weakened by captivity. Will is a strong warrior and never backs down to anyone.
