Thinking it over…Book 1 gets a 1.25⭐️ from me. I’ll average out the ratings from all three parts for the final score (they’re all in one physical copy).

Is it weird that I already kinda want to restart and reread just to annotate more? This is my first time really annotating, and I’m starting to get a sense of what I do and don’t want to tag.

For instance: right now they’re talking about when Ivy was first blown away by her friend Suzanne’s bedroom. But I’m pretty sure in the first book it said Ivy only moved to town in 11th grade, when she met Suzanne and Beth. And now it’s saying she first visited Suzanne’s room when she was seven? Make it make sense. Idk maybe I’m going crazy.

Okay, maybe I was a little harsh on book 1. It’s more of a 1.5–2⭐️. It’s odd because while all three stories are in this physical copy, the second book is much better! The writing, pacing, everything. Maybe it’s just the inconsistencies showing through, but it’s definitely an improvement so far.

Starting book 2!

Book 1 complete: 1⭐️ I have a feeling it’ll get better, but the groundwork was poorly executed. The writing’s choppy, the story inconsistent, and the characters oddly placed. The setup felt forced, like the author tried too hard to connect everyone. I love the concept, but it’s a no from me. I’ll keep going since I’ve heard it improves by book 4, but with such a weak base? Yeah… I’m nervous.

Ok, back to the opening scene at the beginning of the book… the events in between are sparse and confusing, but… ok! 🤪 We’ll roll with it, I guess.
