Cheesy monologue now.
"I don’t want to look back anymore. I’m ready to accept that my existence will sometimes contain pain. No more trying to escape, either through nostalgia or a memory chair. They’re both the same fucking thing. Life with a cheat code isn’t life. Our existence isn’t something to be engineered or optimized for the avoidance of pain. That’s what it is to be human—the beauty and the pain [.]"

So they know they can't make it but rather than just wait to reset the day of, they're out snowshoeing/hiking? Make it make sense.

The dialogue is so cheesy.
“You don’t need me.” “That is not what I’m saying. Of course I need you. I need your love, I need your mind, your support, all of it. But I need you to know—” “Helena, don’t.” “Let me say this! It’s enough that I have to see the chair destroying the entire world. People throwing themselves off of buildings because of something I made. It’s another to see it ruin the life of the man I love.”

But won't the possible victims just remember dying like the guy's daughter did? I'm confused.

All the monologuing here is really perfect for a TV series or movie.
