This book is a disappointment from Ronald Balson; it just doesn't feel like his typical work.
The characters are shallow and feel flat. This lack of depth, combined with unrealistic dialogue, makes it hard to get invested in the story. The only saving grace is the compelling subject matter which is the sole reason I will stick with it until the end.

I'm sorry to say that The Righteous by Ronald Balson isn't drawing me in like his other books which I loved. I find the characters, dialogue, and writing style disappointing. Regardless, I appreciate his deep dive into the many tragedies of the Holocaust and writing about them so we will never forget.
