Wow, definitely not your typical Jane Austen! It really is hardly written by her, and I wonder how abashed she would feel knowing what the author who picked up her manuscript has done with her characters.

I like our main character quite well already! I have met most of the cast, which is always the most confusing thing to me about older books in particular. I’m not sure why, perhaps the more formal way of conversing muddles the character distinctions.
