Not usually a self-help book person 😅 but there’s just something so endearing about the All Blacks’ whole life philosophy — no dickheads, sweep the sheds, great men make great All Blacks 💪 Couldn’t resist giving this a go. Plus let’s be honest, Dan Carter just radiates good human energy 🖤

End-of-term Christmas madness meant this was on pause for a bit, but I’m determined to finish it.
It’s been a genuinely grounding read; especially while stepping into a new leadership role at work.
Less about trophies, more about standards, evolution, and how you use experience wisely.
A calm, thoughtful mindset book that meets you where you are and quietly raises the bar.

Really loved this section — especially the reminder that no one is above doing the little things and no one is bigger than the team.
And honestly, it came in handy today: my top set Year 9 tried to abandon the canteen in chaos. Straight back they went. A quick “sweep the sheds” moment sorted them out. If the All Blacks can clean up after themselves, so can teenagers.

I am LOVING this book 😍 The whole section on whakapapa absolutely got me - the idea that everyone has an origin story, that your values should guide everything you do, and that your job is to “leave the jersey in a better place” 🖤🏉
And the reminder that it only takes one person moving the wrong way to disrupt a whole culture?? Oof. Felt that in my soul. This is honestly so inspiring.

Okay, I love this section so much 🖤 The whole “poetry and plumbing” idea really made sense to me. It’s such a grounded way to think about ambition.
Dan Carter talks about purpose being bigger than a goal, something that constantly pulls you forward — and I just think that’s beautiful. The mix of humility, work ethic, and self-reflection in this book feels so authentically All Black 🏉✨
