I'd give Rachel Harrison's story ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Not a ton happened, but it was thoughtful and I found the protagonist's narrative voice so real and believable. I just live her writing 💜

Having read from Kylie Lee Baker three other times, that story was not what I was expecting. I would give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5-stars. I am wondering if it is perhaps inspired by a bit of folklore that I'm unfamiliar with, because it did have the air of a dark fairy tale about it.

Story #2: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 -- Wow, Del Sandeen, you got me with that one. I felt like this had such a classic horror feel, but was also such a creative concept. So it played on past tropes, while also bringing something completely new to the table!

That was so unique; very interesting. I've never read from Kay Chronister before, but would love to read more now!

I'm liking how this 1st-story follows a Cultural Anthropologist doing fieldwork with his wife in tow, though she seems the more intelligent of the two...
