I’m a little ahead of the others in book club, and we just discussed the war stories. The discussion clarified my position on theodicy. I also learned that some version of the Jewish god had a wife and I heard again about Elohim. The idea of Hashem addressing a council of other gods reminds me of the Gita. This new info is consonant with the idea of a jealous god. Fortunately this Jealous God bore a son.
