When my editor encouraged me to add a 'marriage in trouble' subplot to this novel, I was apprehensive. Looking back now, though, I'm so glad I went with it. The scene between Mason and Isabel on the gondola ride over the resort ended up being one of my favorites.

As soon as I wrote the scene where Darby Jane yanks on Burke's sleeve and tells him that sharing their rental car with Jovi is the right thing to do, then Burke has to grudgingly offer Jovi a ride to Evergreen during a snowstorm, I knew this was going to be a grumpy-sunshine situation. And that Darby Jane was going to be a super fun secondary character to weave into the story. Thrilled to hear readers love her too!
