Almost 25% in, I can't connect with the characters and I just realized we never know how the protagonists feel. We've had some events that should have been impactful but weren't, because the characters didn't react to them. It makes everything feel unimportant, and like there's no real focus to the story.

I hope it takes off soon, maybe when the protagonists meet? But I may end up DNFing this book, sadly.
