Juho Pohjalainen
is finished
One of Moore's classic works, but didn't quite climb as high as Watchmen for me. A little bit too hard to follow. Too... British.

I appreciate Alan Moore making it clear what anarchy actually means, and makes the idea sound halfway attractive even... but I don't think we're going to be ready for a leaderless world for centuries, if not millennia. There are always going to be dicks.
Still something to work towards, though.

Well, we knew V wasn't nice either, but this is a new low.
...Still not as bad as what happened to Valerie, though. But I don't suppose there's much point in comparing.
(Wonder if she's the one he got the name from?)

Poor Valerie. We already knew how bad the regime is but this hit on a whole other level.

I've read a lot of Alan Moore and I like a lot of it - though not all of it - but somehow I never got around to this one. I don't even know much about it, for that matter. Never saw the movie, though from what I've heard of that one, that's probably for the best.
Bleak as hell, for sure. Probably feeling even more like that in the times we live in right now. Not that the late 80s were great either...
