Loved the blues songs that start each chapter, and the Spotify playlist is a great touch. However, nothing takes you out of a historical novel faster than historical inaccuracies. You’d think a book with music at its core would know how Victrolas worked — records at the time only had one song per side. Multi-song records didn’t come along until the late 1940s. Yet Beatrice remarks about the player changing tracks.
