Mhh, I don't know. So far it's just a bunch of very random things thrown together. 15th century Italy and the Medici family, but also fae and witches and magical gemstones and a sculpting competition. Let's see what will come of it all.

I was SO tempted by this when I saw it on NetGalley, but I haven't liked this author's other works, so I decided to wait until I could try it out from the library

oh gosh same same!! the premise of this sounded so interesting but the execution...I just couldn't
I tossed this author out after her first book. Just terrible. :(
@Ivey A good decision, really! I have like zero self control when it comes to the "Read Now" section on Netgalley, especially when it's books that I've seen around and that look interesting (and pretty).@isbah I know :/ It's giving early 2010s YA fantasy romance when it's honest to god supposed to be adult fantasy??? And the world seemed interesting at first, but it's such a mess.
@Marquise I've read "Woven in Moonlight" and I remember nothing, but Goodreads says that I rated it 4 stars. I can't really trust ratings from my younger self and this seems to be the case here :D I also got a cheap ebook copy of "What the River knows", but maybe I just kick it after this mess here.
