Is Amos a pure heavenly god figure? An unfeeling devil (with goat feet)? A troubled beautiful boy from a small town trying to feel a modicum of control as he comes of age in the fucked up America between the Great Depression and World War II?

I hate every character in this book and I love this book so far. It’s disgusting and gorgeous and I will never forget some segments (especially this abortion scene wtf).
