I love how this book sounds. I’m familiar with Wivenhoe so the cold and snow makes the familiar unfamiliar. I have such a strong sense of what it’s like for the world to suddenly be covered in snow - the muffled quiet, the crunching footsteps all creates an unreality - of being taken out of reality whilst being hyper aware of your surroundings
