Eh I'm done with this one. The MC is an unlikeable pathological liar Sherlock Holmes TV Mary Sue type character. The treatment of women in this book is also kind of atrocious, every time a woman appears she is sexualized somehow, they have no personalities and are props for MC to white knight for. The magic system was neat but was not explored nearly enough.
