Aristophanes and his represented greek old comedy, hence the ancient greek culture, has deep theme of mysogeny, promiscuous action and sexual violence. So it is really really disturbing to read. Also the translator is really wordy in preface and notes. He also refers objects that are not normally gendered as “she” which is really weird.
