Someone who’s stronger than me needs to count how many times the author mentions that it’s 1989.

He confuses Janice with Jenna at the end scene in fact he doesn’t even mention Janice in the “hall of horrors”

Where did the gun come from? I can’t make sense of what happens scene to scene as events seem to happen without explanation. He goes into exquisite detail over the most mundane unimportant shit, but he cannot write out how Mel acquired a gun?

I’m almost positive how his dad dies changes in the book. I’m not sure if he couldn’t keep it straight but the first iteration his dad was cresting a blind hill and he gets hit by a car that’s driving in both lanes. The second story told 100 pages later is he’s passing a tractor and he gets hit. I guess both could happen at the same time if you’re dumb enough to pass someone on a blind hill.

This is hard to follow, the writing feels so juvenile and clunky. The similes, metaphors, and imagery don’t make sense/are not relatable and they are also unfinished in some bizarre cases. And the underlining, dashes, ellipses, asterisks, questions marks are so numerous it makes your head spin. It’s like my eyes are hitting brick walls
