Interessantste punt tot nu toe is 'vacillation' t.o.v. nieuwe culturen. Er bestaat een soort van middencategorie tussen het onbekende en het bekende, waarbij onbekende zaken die niet geheel vreemd zijn ingekaderd worden in het bekende. Zo kun je Arabische cultuur #1 in hetzelfde betekeniskader stoppen als #2, of zelfs compleet andere 'Orientaalse' culturen.
