Sarah Dwyer How are you liking this one so far? I didn’t get the hype with the nightingale so I keep pushing it back on my bookshelf because I think I’ll feel similarly.

Bridget I actually put off reading this one for the same reason. I normally like her books, but I was disappointed with the Nightingale. I remember liking it at the start and then being disappointed and I normally really enjoy books about all different aspects of WWII, so I was surprised it was just ok for me. On the other hand, I actively avoid reading books about Vietnam, I know it's terrible, but I find the topic endlessly frustrating and divisive, and that just feels too much like the world we live in now and my books are supposed to be an escape from that. BUT, I was drawn into this one by the audiobook, the narrator is Julia Whelan and she's my favorite narrator. Found her by accident by listening to one of Taylor Jenkins Reid books and then realized she narrates all of them.... and I've been hooked since. lol And so far, I've enjoyed it, but the topics it covers are brutal and graphic, but I like medical dramas so that doesn't bother me. Really just hoping it ends up being as good as I want it to be.
