the Demon Copperhead inspired rabbithole about coal mining has culminated in my reading a shittily scanned PDF of an autobiography written in 1952 of a former & disgraced United Mine Workers organizer who was ousted after the Battle of Blair Mountain and would later end his life, and I gotta say, I really missed this kind of literary exploration
