This book kind of reminds me of THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB in that it is a mild murder mystery which is somewhat charming but not laugh out loud funny. That said, I’m over 1/3 of the way in and the protagonist is literally at a place called “Sex Island” but there has been zero sex so far. Beginning to think this is a bait and switch. (There *has* been a murder, but that was less of a draw for me…)

I didn’t really expect this one to be available but it was so now I’m reading it. I have positive feelings about Jo Firestone because of her role in ‘Joe Pera Talks to You’. I’ve only seen one review of this book and it was a 3-star so that’s unfortunately coloring my initial impressions of it. I think her humor is kind of like Pera’s, though: a little more restrained. Gotta be on the right wavelength.
