The book can definitely be on the nose with its symbolism and the way it plays with themes, and I'd say its tone is downright saccharine. Linus, our POV character, is so incredibly frustrating to me that I want to reach into the book and shake him most of the time I'm in his head.

But honestly, I kind of love it. It's such a transparently sweet-hearted book I'll be surprised if my review changes at all.

I tried to start this book once before, but bounced off. I thought it might just be that I wasn't in the mood for it, so I immediately put another hold on it at the library to put a sort of arbitrary delay. I still struggled with the opening of the book; it was just so... Boring. It was getting deep into the weeds of Office Space, so I suspect it wasn't an accident.
Little did I know it'd take off like a rocket
