Thankfully her family is back together. This book has made me truly thankful I was born in a country where I have rights, and even more grateful I’ve never had to wonder when my next meal would be.

Insane how the people in NK have math problems calling us American bastards!! Every aspect of their lives is controlled by the government and filled with propaganda. And I don’t like that her father would hit her mother AND had a mistress he dared to introduce to his children.

The prologue somehow made me emotional haha. I can’t wait to read about her journey. I’ve known almost all my life that North Koreans had no freedom, but to hear a story about living there, escaping, and surviving will be interesting.
