Chumash History, of the Native Americans who were living in Ventura and Santa Barbara, when Spanish Settlers arrived. This is written from unpublished accounts of a Progressive era historian who spoke with living descendants of the Chumash after the Mission period who still remembered the culture. It is very interesting and easy to understand.

The myths of the Chumash are a great look into their lives, not focusing on time or origins but having a complex relationship with death including peace or their soul returning through a path of peril. Also there are some similarities with modern mythology.
