The plot armor is CRAZY, the entire business got saved simply through a PSL and social media with nothing and happening. The rival coffee shop and financial issues weren't a real threat.

Stressed and worried daughter + parent constantly acting like everything's fine in front of daughter when they clearly aren't = this dynamic between Lucy and her Mom that as previously wholesome is starting to drag.
