The Shadow over Innsmouth
Ok but WHAT IS THAT TWIST
The last five pages or so just gave the preceding events a whole new layer. What did the Innsmouth people already know? What'd they do if they got him?

The Dreams in the Witch-house
These protagonists gotta stop relying too much on their reasoning and start believing the signs. "Oh, I have a mysterious rat bat that bloodied my whole arm in my sleep but the sheets are clean, huh, how peculiar, oh well"
PLEASE man are you slow?
Although the evil is defeated here, you know the black figure still lurks as does Azathoth and all that chaos so is it really?

The Whisperer in Darkness
The storytelling just keeps getting better ohmigosh
But like seriously, when someone suddenly changes personality opinions and all that do NOT go into the ancient alien crab infested forest alone

The Dunwich Horror
Cthulhu may be better know in today's day and age, but the Dunwich Horror is where Lovecraft really stepped up his narratological game. Great plotline and story arc

The Rats in the Walls
Yes, that's the name of the story.
Great intro to Lovecraft, clear narrator though he might be insane (the daemon rats behind the padding in this room [...] the rats they can never hear; the rats, the rats in the walls.)
The narrator's descend into madness is very good, right environment and "going back in time" by speaking older english till latin and unga bunga ("Ungl unl ... rrhl ... chchch)
