Wow - this book is awesome so far. Dark fantasy - old gods, purgatory, lurid death scenes and the such. Brom is a genius - when I first read the reviews I saw people complaining about his writing style and being disappointed. LIES! I have read a lot in the past few months and Brom is blowing my socks off. My new favorite author.

So far so good - I am taking forever to read it but that more me than the book. Brom mixes horror and fantasy-adventure well. It’s an adventure in purgatory. But I love how he does not pull any punches - even with children. I think he’s my favorite author.
