At this point of the story, Martha, CJ, Ava and Jordan are all becoming women and realizing who they are becoming. Martha works extremely hard, maybe harder than her friends. CJ has feelings for her coworker, suddenly kisses Ava's enemy, but realizes that CJ's college essay is about how she's messed up in a good way. Ava finds her birth mother and befriends her enemy. Jordan knows who she wants to be.

Ava, Martha, Jordan and CJ are all in their senior year and dreading to become an adult. But it's strange how life plays out when CJ gets her SATS scores and they are BAD. Ava suddenly wants to find her birth mother. Martha and her financial issues and Jordan and her dreams to be powerful in the political world. But while chasing all their dreams, they meet people along the way that change their POVS and dreams.
