Thankfully, the climax was very engaging (though still way too spelled out for my liking). From the moment Jake stormed off, I practically flew through the pages. Perhaps it's one of those books that you need to read in a single evening to appreciate.

😡😡 there's dropping hints and then there's explaining the whole freaking mystery halfway through (In a roundabout way but regardless...he's been edging closer to spilling it all with every hint, like an eager super villain ...) Hate when authors think their readers need a subway surfer hook to the chin to keep up and keep going 😡😡

demoted this from a bed book to a bathtub book, and I'm afraid I'm -this- close to making it a shower book. 😡 (but alas, I persist.)

pondering if I should accidentally dunk this into the bathtub when I take it with me to soak.... I understand what this is steering towards, but that doesn't make Jake any less ....Jake.

decided I don't cherish this book enough not to take it into the bathtub with me. (not loving the writing so far, it's giving English C1 reading comp. test)
