I love this series… but kids literally don’t talk like this. I get that kids know more than they let on, but if I’m reading the pov of a 18-20 year old vs that of a 5 year old I should still be able to tell that one is younger than the other

I love these characters and this series. The only complaint I have right now is that I just feel like the ages don’t match up with the language in the book. Even though some of them do grow up pretty fast due to trauma, I should still be able to tell if I’m reading in the pov of an 8 year old or an 18 year old.
