I borrowed this book from the library so much as a teenager. Just re-read the intro, and can see why this appealed. It would have been the conversational style, the motivational story, the "THIS IS THE ANSWER" stuff.

this is getting kind of predictable and i'm losing focus. she's starting to get smaller now. she's got two small kids, she's got child support, she's working.
i don't think this will hold anyone's interest unless they want to lose weight but i'll whizz through the rest as a refresher before watching the documentary

this isn't just about weight loss. the current bit is about her cheating husband and how she found out. ha! (not that marriage breakdown is funny but she's obviously well and truly past it and does write about it in an amusing way.)
i can't remember it's been so long since reading this but the next part might be post-breakup weight gain
