... follow along with who was doing what and the weight of their actions. Specifically during the hunt sequence where they fight off a giant monster and defend their king (Dalinar's nephew). Whilst the sequence itself was cool it lost some impact for me as it bounced between characters I don't really know well as they were only recently introduced. I feel like I should re-read this section to get a better picture,

Spoilers: So a bunch of people were introduced in this last 5% ive listened to. Dalinar is such a sick character - I think his POV will be one we frequent often. His brother (a king) was also killed by an assassin in white, could it be Szeth and that sequence from the prologue? who knows. Spoilers: end of part 1. A solid end where Kaladin finally comes back to himself after being a numb slave for months. He takes charge of his bridge crew and seizes some responsibilities as if it where his old self. Shallan has successfully secured wardship under Jasnah who was reluctant at first but broke under Shallan's persistence. Keen to see how the story progresses with such a broad setup of plotlines

Oh shit, spoilers: during Shallan's pov a thought just started that a man in white who was 'shin' called the assassin in white nearly killed her father(who is dead anyway) who I think is Szeth-son-son-Vallano. Shallan reminds me of Tress from the emerald Sea with her whit and self determination. So that begs the question did Szeth kill the king in the prologue and/or is that Shallan's father?

... That Zen character has the hardest line in any book though "Szeth-son-son-Vallano, Truthless of Shinovar, wore white on the day he was to kill a king" absolute cinema. Now Kaladin is a skilled warrior who has been indentured as a slave and Shallan is a princess of a broke kingdom who wants to apprentice under a 'witch' to rob her? Interesting plot lines so far and very engaging. Prose is good. Just big world

Okay so this is very dense - specifically in the world building and setup. It literally has 2 prologues which anyone other than Sanderson wouldn't get away with. Prologue 1 related to the overall storm light archive story whereas prologue 2 send to directly relate to the way of kings. Seems to be two protagonists so far Kaladin and Shallan. There was the pov of Zen? In the prologue but not sure where hes at...
