I somehow managed to get to near-ish 50% of this book and like. Okay. It really isn’t terrible. But there is no part of me that wants to pick this up and continue it

I can’t. nope. not right now. I can’t deal with how much this feels like something I’d write when I was 15 and desperate to write a female version of cherub or alex rider

I really want to like this book, but I can’t reconcile with the fact that I read the first chapter the other week and the only knowledge I came away with was this is going to be far too melodramatic and I’m unsure if I can handle it
