Even though I'm just a no one in the US, I feel guilty for my own inaction. While world leaders could have the most immediate impact on these issues and put a stop to slaughter, us citizens still are too uninvolved and complicit in our silence and lack of outrage. I'm sorry for the lives lost and the disregard for human life over self interest and political gain. Humanity seems to have reached a point of no return

Halfway through this and it's very eye-opening to how Americans perceive struggles around the world. Extreme struggles like war and genocide and how we have all been conditioned to stay in our oblivious bubble. Honestly, we've been desensitized to inhumane treatment to those that are not "us." It's haunting but necessary to read this book
