James Oswald - DI McLean #1 - Natural Causes 2012
Audiobook: 11:38 Hours - Narrator: Ian Hanmore
Commenced: 18 November 2025
Heard: 08:10 Hours - Balance: 03:28 Hours
I enjoy Scottish police procedurals and I am pleased to have unearthed, from within my audiobooks collection, the first three books in the (newly minted) Detective Inspector Tony McLean series. I've raced to 70% of #1 and I'm loving it!

Again, I have changed the list of 10 titles on my "Currently Reading" shelf. Last night, after bumbling about trying to choose, I decided on an older-fashioned police procedural: the newly-minted DI McLean in "#1 Natural Causes". I'm smiling!

Even with my new toothache😣, I have picked up this book at every (waking) opportunity! Dentist this morning😲!! 🤩
Drats about the toothache. Those are so miserable to have😑. I hope it goes away quickly. Do they speak in Scottish accents? I find that accent to be difficult to follow along with sometimes. It sounds very cool, but so hard to understand for me.

Yes, the narrator, Ian Hanmore is a Scot, but his accents are not "broad Scots" interpretations. They are very likeable and easily understood.🤩
