Almost half-way done. This is possibly the single most ahistorical account of Puritan theology I have ever read. I genuinely doubt that this man spent any time at all reading the Puritans. It reads as if he instead Googled, "worst quotes from the Puritans" and then wrote a whole book about it.

Bro just called "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God," a "vile, reprehensible excuse for a sermon."

Tell me what's wrong with this sentence, "Though, Quakers, Anglicans, and PRESBYTERIANS (among others) flocked to America's shores and colonized places like Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, these religious sects failed to possess the structure, unity, and theology that could, like the PURITANS, command the presence of God." The majority of Puritans WERE Presbyterians. Good grief.

This man is very obviously and very painfully ignorant of Reformed theology. He presents what might be one of the most uncharitable strawman versions of Calvinism I have ever had this displeasure of reading.

"Contextual integrity as it relates to the Bible wasn't something the Puritans often considered when applying biblical narrative to everyday circumstances or enormous adventures that might kill you."
I can almost guarantee that this man has never once read any of the works of the Puritans.

16 pages in and the guy is already completely mischaracterizing the Purtians and Calvin. As per usual.
