Sarah is not a very “likable” protagonist but her thoughts and views on the world are very interesting so far. She’s bitter about the church’s treatment of the mother (and women’s bodies overall), and not a very empathetic, kind and patient person, she compares her suffering to Christ yet refuses a leper when he comes in need of food and prayer. Very engaging character study so far
