This prose is gratingly self-conscious and self-critical. It reminds me of my inner-critic and I HATE MY INNER CRITIC. Holy shit this poor author has so much hate for themselves and seemingly no confidence at all.

They are a good writer though but this memoir is so “i was so stupid” “my poetry was so bad”

It’s so condescending and she hates her younger self so much. She has no kindness for herself. Jesus
