Well organised, and info-packed, but wielded with very broad brush strokes. Presents a good general time line following the various recorded Establishment Religions, and a few "Maverick religions", from 5000BC Sumeria to 1989 when the book was published, opening Many avenues for further exploration,
especially geo-religio-political. (I'm excited ✧⋆٩(^ᴗ^)۶ ♡✧)

Humans appear to be a slave race languishing on an isolated planet in a small galaxy. Once a source of labor for an extraterrestrial civilization, humans remain a possession today.To keep control over its possession that civilization has bred never-ending conflict among humans, spiritual decay, & erected on Earth conditions of unremitting hardship;a situation that has existed for thousands of years & continues today.

This has been on my TBR for over a over a few decades....now, the Joy of retirement! And, at 535 eligible pages it qualifies for our LBC!

For centuries, scientists and philosophers have attempted to solve the riddle of why people go to war. Bramley proposes that some human problems may be rooted in unrecognized & misunderstood phenomena and so, unacknowledged, they are not dealt with. Hmmm, very interesting indeed
