53% of the way into the book I'm halfway through, Inez has not said she's in love with him yet she has expressed to herself that he is cute and she finds him fascinating. Whit, however, has found himself enamored. He finally !finally!, in his head mentioned that he had someone waiting back in England he did not say it what they were to him. Inez has even point blank asked him if he has someone waiting, he said no.
