I shall call the past ten pages “Who Can Monologue The Most At The End Of The Book So That Saeris Comes Up With A Weird Plan Eventually”.

I think my main issue with this book so far stems from Saeris feeling like a passive character. Things are happening to or for her, but she herself (on her own merit) has had little to do with advancing any plot. A bummer, since she was a relatively active protagonist in Quicksilver.
