Months went by, and the church people stopped coming. Keagan worked hard to help his momma. He did things for her like changing the batteries on her remote so she could watch TV, and made his own dinners of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. He spent the rest of his free time in his closet. The dark inside was his friend and it missed him when he was gone. Both of them were empty without each other.
