I basically already said this but need to say again - this story had just started to get interesting (which was odd since I had almost DNF'd the book) when . . . I see the same bloody scenes again but now through a new character's eyes. Okay, and more scenes, but still 'in the past' of the story. mmphs.

Miranda was a pain (ooh whoa is me, I'm rich and famous but I hate myself); Stephanie is interesting but.

Then things started getting interesting. Then at 61% not interesting.

Was going to make comment at around the 51% mark that it's interesting how different a book 'feels' when you move past the excited little 'ooh, book - everything I've read by this author I've liked (though not loved)' and arrive at 'I'm probably going to move this book currently on my paused shelf to my DNF shelf, but let's read a little first.'

Then things started getting interesting. Then at 61% not interesting.

The musician who sold out and hates her life continues. Though now she's dating a prostitute (she thinks, I think there's a secret there). The prostitute is color-blind. And a dancer.

In other news the singer is a massive bitch to everyone, including to herself.

Also, the number of errors in this book is annoying me. Random words that don't belong, random little mistakes here and there. mmphs.

Miranda hates her life job (successful 'talent' (no, not musician, that's someone allowed to actually do that)), her friends (spiteful ego-filled bitches who, just now, set M up with a room full of hookers . . . because?), her 'employees' (who treat her as a thing and their employee), her need to pretend to be straight. her loneliness.

Drugs. Drinking. Contemplating suicide. Hating herself. no redeeming characters.

There's 'I do not like one aspect of my life but it allows me to do x' or even 'I do not like anything in my life except x, but doing the other things allows me to continue doing x.'

Then there's 'I loved learning about music with my Papi. My music is nothing like what I want. I hate it. I hate hiding being gay, I hate everything about my life. Now you want me to do Q? eww. hate it. but whatever.'

I'm having no luck lately with what I'm reading.

So, this time, we have yet another lesbian who isn't allowed to be a lesbian because of marketing reasons; added layer not always seen - she hates her life and would loathes what she is doing. And another one who abuses drugs and alcohol because of their wildly successful life is too wildly successful.
