Came upon an ARC and, amused by the title's play on words (of a famous alumnus return to celebrate his former occupation) and a subtle inference via a pun on "There's no place like Holmes", I decided to play along. This fictional / mystery / detective story, was not spun by the legendary A.C. Doyle and released in 2002, but hopefully will pay homage to his equally legendary, "Consulting Detective."

Let me get this straight. A fictional character from a fictional story, attempts to convince another fictional character that they are in fact real in 2nd fictional story. All while demonstrating exercises in observation & logic (that are occasionally wrong) & while being badgered for unsympathetic comments about modern cultural values due to real prejudicial views held 125 years prior. Oh, & a double murder awaits.
