Rhys Socolich Curious bc this app does not function well, did you see my theme submission for blood meridian? I ask because time is a flat circle and I’m still at the mercy of your judgements.

Nicholas Godsmark Gave it the ol’ thumbs up. Two questions: 1) Will you read it again?; 2) How has it changed you?

Rhys Socolich 1. Maybe someday, but not for a bit. It's hard with rereading books, because even ones I love take a backseat to the genuine infinity of books I still need to read to feel fulfilled in this life (only exception rn is infinite jest I fear, although thats a bit of a special case). Once life has tossed me around a bit more Blood Meridian will return to me (and I suspect nt vice versa). 2. I can say immediately that my most recent creative piece features a lot of 'ands' where commas maybe would have been used by past Rhys. On a less granular level, I think it has actually made me more optimistic somehow. Im pretty abstractly misanthropic at times but I think even I don't share in the cynicism Mccarthy demonstrates in this book. I think this book like any great one mostly changed me in the sense it opened my view even further of what can do in creative fiction, of the types of things one can write if they want (granted Mccarthy and his eidetic memory is simply a rare genius).

Rhys Socolich Also this is rife with grammatical errors, #whoops

Rhys Socolich Also indirectly this book has set me on a course of wanting to delve quite deeply into Wittgenstein's work and main philosophical assertions.

Nicholas Godsmark A: 7 — showing good understanding with some refs to the text plus an inquisitiveness for further study; B: 8 — you speak to authorial choice and effect on the reader: you; C: 6 — answers came through mostly cohesive response although multiple posts; D: 5 — #whoops
