Took a break from reading for mental health reasons but this book only keeps getting better, I love it so much and the author is just so creative and an amazing writer with all these ways to somewhat disprove the stereotypes around kids from rougher areas and I love that

The slow reveal of Julian’s backstory is really nice, I really like his character.

I really like Yadriel and Maritza’s dynamic, it feels really real. I like how Julian isn’t sure whether Maritza can curse his or not and I think that’s funny

Julian is so nice—or at least I think he’s funny, he’s straight forward. I feel I can really relate to Yadriel going red/hot in the cheeks when he says he’s trans.

I’m just obsessed about the trans rep and how it’s incorporated into the story 😝😝

Julian is such a vibe, I love him. I love how it actually worked for Yadriel, he is a brujo no one will deny that from him any more

I like how it doesn’t actually say Yadriel’s deadname and just that it’s been said, it’s really nice because I like how it’s obviously relevant to his trans experience but what ever his deadname may be isn’t relevant to the story, just the fact he has one

Aghhhh-I loveeee trans rep, the first character already has me so hooked.
