I hope this is better than "What we can know", I had Angela Merkel syndrome while reading it.

You read my review, you know it now. And the more time passes, the less I like it and have Angela Merkel syndrome (rolling eyes). Such a predicatable book with a boring first part.
I found the book surprising, and I think the second part only works because the first is so descriptive and slow, so I still don’t know what you’re on about, I’m afraid. Also, not only does McEwan not write the same story twice, he writes like someone who doesn’t give a toss about the reader. Anyone looking for melodrama, easy answers and predictability should look elsewhere. Hope this helps, buddy!
Oh, but i see things you mentioned in the book, it was melodramatic and the easy answers were all along. But this is a positive thing, Pedro, not having the same approach to a certain book, it shows that there are ways of approaching an oeuvre!
